Police search for Massapequa chase suspects

Police are on the hunt for two men who crashed a stolen car on a Massapequa lawn and fled, leaving a 4-year-old girl they were traveling with behind.

The child was taken to a hospital and released to family. Authorities say the girl's mother is in jail for a DWI.

The chase started after an officer noticed the plates of a stolen Hyundai in a nearby shopping center. When the officer tried to stop the vehicle, the driver took off south on Carmans Road. The chase was only a few blocks until the Hyundai crashed into a homeowner's garage.
