A Southampton church with a mission and a school in Haiti finally made contact with quake survivors Friday.

The Southampton Full Gospel Church opened its mission in Haiti in 1982. The church employs hundreds and its school serves 1,400 students.

A school employee named Jovaty was able to contact the church using the school?s Internet. He says one student was killed and others were injured when part of the church collapsed.

Jovaty tells News 12 the most important thing he wants the world to know is that the situation is much worse than people think.
