LI nurses band together to help Haiti victims

Nurses working at one Long Island hospital are banding together to help Haiti?s earthquake victims.

More than 60 nurses at the Huntington Hospital are donating some of their pay to the relief effort in Haiti. Many of the nurses would like to go one step further and donate their time in Haiti, but say offering their hard-earned money for supplies is the next best thing.

So far, more than 65 members of the Huntington Hospital staff are donating part of their paycheck but hundreds of employees are expected to eventually join in.

More than 75 employees at Huntington Hospital are of Haitian decent.
