LI woman's relatives saved from mass grave

A Holbrook woman whose brother and sister-in-law were killed in the Haiti earthquake says their bodies will be saved from a mass grave and properly buried.

Alice Mitman says her family was distraught over the possibility of her loved ones ending up in a mass grave because they are Roman Catholic and value proper burials.

Mitman appealed to News 12 Long Island for help, and was placed in contact with Rep. Steve Israel. Israel worked with the Spanish government and arranged for the bodies to be sent to Spain, where Mitman's brother lived.

The burial will take place Wednesday.
