Elmont baby stuck in Haiti after quake

An Elmont couple is frantically trying to bring its 2-year-old daughter home from Haiti after the girl was left there with her grandparents.

Fabiola Pierre-Paul says she brought her baby, Brianna, to meet her grandparents in Port-au-Prince. She left the baby behind to spend more time with her grandparents when the devastating earthquake struck last week.

Pierre-Paul says Brianna is alive and with her mother-in-law. They've been waiting outside the U.S. Embassy each day among thousands of other people trying to make it to the U.S.

Pierre-Paul says Brianna's passport is with her in Elmont, which is impeding the girl's return. News 12 Long Island put Pierre-Paul in touch with Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy's office for help.
