Quake survivor with relatives in Elmont

A Haitian doctor who survived the devastating earthquake last week arrived in Elmont Wednesday to stay with relatives.

Dr. Andre Jolicoeur was at home with his wife and daughter when the quake hit. He says it felt like he was in a blender and he could see the walls open and crumble. Jolicoeur's wife and daughter also survived the earthquake, though his wife was evacuated separately to Canada because of her visa.

Frank Cassano, of the Nassau County chapter of the Red Cross, says the organization is helping Haitians who came to the U.S. find temporary housing, as well as clothing and food.
