Mom in animal abuse case faces more charges
A new indictment containing additional charges of animal torture, animal cruelty and child endangerment was unsealed Thursday against a Selden mother.
Sharon McDonough, 43, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Prosecutors say McDonough tormented and killed her own pets in front of her six daughters. The woman is also accused of keeping her children in deplorable conditions and beating her 18-month-old baby whenever she would cry.
McDonough is being held on $100,000 cash bail.
