Bay Shore petty officer headed to Haiti
A Navy petty officer from Bay Shore is headed to Haiti in an effort to bridge the language barrier between victims and aid workers.
Petty Officer Hans Comeau leaves Friday morning for the quake ravaged country. He's expected to serve in his post as a translator for six months.
"The Navy has a real history, long tradition of helping people in need," he says. "I'm glad to be apart of it."
