Heavy rain, winds pound Long Island

High winds and heavy rain pounded Long Island Monday, causing power outages and tough conditions on the road.

Heavy rains started falling at around 7 a.m. with whipping winds to match.

Some parts of Long Island saw wind gusts of up to 60 mph, which downed power lines and made it difficult to get around.

More than 20,000 homes and businesses lost power at one point.
