Ex-Nassau legislator admits to tax evasion
Former Nassau County Leg. Roger Corbin pleaded guilty Monday to charges that he evaded taxes, filed false returns and lied to the FBI.
Corbin represented the 2nd District for 15 years until losing his seat in November. He was arrested in May and maintained his innocence until his plea.
"It is time for me to move on with my life,? Corbin said in a statement. ?I will continue to serve the public in whatever capacity I am permitted to do so."
The ex-legislator?s guilty plea on the seven-count indictment could send him to federal prison for up to five years. A sentencing date has not been set.
