Toyota expands car recall in U.S.

Toyota announced Thursday an additional recall of more than 1 million vehicles in the United States that could potentially have faulty accelerators that get stuck under floor mats.

The list of models affected by this latest recall includes:

- The 2008-2010 Highlander- The 2009-2010 Corolla - The 2009-2010 Venza- The 2009-2010 Matrix- The 2009-2010 Pontiac Vibe

Toyota's announcement comes following last week's recall of 2.3 million U.S. vehicles and Wednesday's decision by the Japanese automaker to suspend production and sales of eight models, including the popular Camry.

The problem is not limited to the U.S. Toyota has informed Chinese authorities that it will start a recall in February of 75,500 RAV4 vehicles manufactured between 2009 and 2010 in that country, and Europe may be next.
