2 killed in suspected DWI crash in Central Islip

Two people were killed in a suspected DWI crash Thursday when investigators say the teen driving the car crashed into a tree in Central Islip.

Centereach High School senior Taylor Nolte faces DWI charges. She and two surviving passengers remain in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the five young women appeared to have been driving around and drinking for at least four hours. They say there were beer cans in the cars and that Nolte may have been driving as fast as 80 mph before she hit a pine tree at Wilson Boulevard.

Nolte will be arraigned when she is released from the hospital.
