Centereach man accused of endangering kids

Police say a Centereach man was arrested and charged with 11 counts of child endangerment after he left youngsters alone in the cold to sell candy.

According to authorities, 25-year-old Jule Huston, Jr. left 11 children and teens unsupervised near Hempstead Turnpike and Carl Avenue in Franklin Square Saturday to sell candy for the New York Youth Club. A patrol officer noticed two of the children standing alone on the street and stopped to investigate.

Huston is a supervisor for the Smithtown youth club. He is also charged with resisting arrest.
