Commuters make mass exodus from NYC to LI

Long Island Rail Road trains ran smoothly for the most part Wednesday even as extra trains were added to get commuters home early.

However, the new rule remains in effect. If there are 10 inches of snow or more, the LIRR will suspend or cancel trains on less-traveled lines.

Thirteen eastbound trains from Penn Station were added during the afternoon and many workers took advantage of the early dismissal.
