LI man's photos show 9/11 from new angle

The latest photographs released of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks are giving Americans a new view of the event. Those photographs were taken by a city cop from Long Island.

Greg Semendinger, of Wantagh, was a helicopter pilot for the NYPD in 2001. He was an observer in one of the department's helicopters on the morning of Sept. 11 when he captured more than 240 digital photographs from the air.

?Just as we were coming up to Manhattan, the South Tower went down,? Semendinger says. ?My digital pictures reflect a timeline of what happened after that.?

Semendinger says his photographs immediately take him back to that day.
