Alert dog saves Selden woman

A Selden woman who suffered a seizure while bathing was saved Sunday after the family dog alerted her sisters.

Debbie Lowery suffered second-degree burns on her face after the scalding-hot water continued to wash over her, say her sisters, Denise and Deanna. Debbie Lowery was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center for treatment.

Denise and Deanna say if their dog, a Pomeranian called Gangsta, had not alerted them to their sister's emergency, things could have taken a turn for the worst.
