Police: Dad overdosed with kids in house

Police charged a 30-year-old man with endangering the welfare of a child after they say he overdosed on heroin with two kids in the house Sunday.

Investigators say they found Thomas Koch unconscious. According to police, officers found hypodermic needles and other drug paraphernalia inside Koch's house on Lombardy Drive.

Police believe Koch overdosed on heroin while his 9-year-old and 5-year-old children were in the next room. He is being held on $10,000 cash bail.

Police say Child Protective Services was notified about the incident.
