3rd charged in Lucero death gets plea deal
A third teen charged in the death of Ecuadorian immigrant Marcelo Lucero took a plea deal Friday.
Lucero was killed in 2008, allegedly by a group of seven teens in Patchogue. Kevin Shea, 18, is one of those accused.
The judge ordered Shea to a maximum of 10 years in prison in exchange for a guilty plea to several charges including gang assault. Shea may have to testify against friend Jeffrey Conroy as part of the deal. Police say Conroy is the one who stabbed Lucero.
Prosecutors say Shea will be sentenced after his co-defendants are either tried or plead guilty.
