West Babylon unites after fire guts school

The West Babylon community has come together to help students and parents reeling from the blaze that nearly destroyed South Bay Elementary School during the winter break.

School will be back in session this Tuesday for South Bay Elementary School students, who'll be attending classes at Our Lady of Grace Church on Albin Avenue. School officials say the building is big enough to keep all 318 students and their teachers together.

"West Babylon is a tight-knit community and we take care of ourselves, take care of everybody and when you need to come together at a time like this, this is what we do best," says Donna Dimuro, president of the PTA Council.
