LI plastic surgeons return from Haiti trip

Some Long Island plastic surgeons returned Monday from a trip to help victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti.

Dr. Kaveh Alizadeh has helped save lives in dozens of impoverished countries, but says operating on a 12-year-old Haitian boy who needed his fingers amputated will stay with him forever.

Alizadeh runs the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, which is based in Garden City. The group typically performs reconstructive surgeries for victims of car crashes and other accidents.

Alizadeh, along with Dr. Tommaso Addona and Dr. Rachel Ruotolo, is hoping to make another trip to Haiti soon.
