Hearing on violence to take place in Brentwood

A public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday evening in Brentwood to discuss a wave of violence that has engulfed the area in recent months.

On Feb. 27, a 24-year-old man was fatally stabbed on Gates Avenue during an altercation. On Feb. 17, two men were shot to death on Timberline Drive.

In June of 2009, a Brentwood teenager playing basketball at Timberline Park was shot in the eye and left partially paralyzed. A week after that incident, a 19-year-old was gunned down while playing basketball.

The meeting on violence will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Brentwood Public Library.
