Man accused of stealing cash from Little League

Police say a Seaford man stole thousands of dollars from a Little League and used the money to pay for his house.

According to authorities, 44-year-old Richard Barry took nearly $8,000 from the Levittown-Wantagh-Seaford Little League, where he used to work.

Police say Barry transferred the money intended for children into his personal home mortgage account.

Sources say Barry also worked for Agape World, the Hauppauge investment firm at the center of a federal Ponzi scheme investigation. He is not charged with any crimes connected to the firm.

Barry is charged with a felony and faces up to seven years in prison.
