D.A. Spota: 5 busted in illegal guns sting

Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota says five men were busted on weapons charges in an undercover sting Monday.

Spota's office released a video that shows an undercover detective purchasing an illegal gun for $1,900 in cash. Authorities say detectives seized 15 illegal guns in the eight-month operation, most of them loaded.

Police say the illegal guns sales were related to a group called the "Rim Reapers," which stole hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of rims and tires from homes and dealerships across Suffolk.

Police say two guns seized in the sting are linked to North Bellport shootings.
