Thornton guilty in murder of Nesconset partner
Ronald Thornton has been found guilty on all counts in the 2008 murder of his Nesconset business partner.
In its second day of deliberations, the jury found Thornton guilty of first-degree murder and first-degree conspiracy.
Prosecutors alleged Thornton paid a stripper and two friends to kill James DiMartino, with whom Thornton owned a mortgage company. DiMartino was found shot to death in a Commack parking lot.
DiMartino is survived by his wife, Diane, and their four daughters. Diane DiMartino says the verdict did little to comfort her in the loss of her husband.
Thornton faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole when he is sentenced April 14.
