Arrest made in high school basketball brawl

A fight during a high school championship basketball game in Bay Shore cleared the bleachers Tuesday night.

The fight broke out during the final minute of the Class B championship game between Wyandanch and Malverne.

Wyandanch?s school superintendent says the altercation began after a former Wyandanch student made a comment to the father and brother of senior Jorrell Pinckney.

Police say they have arrested 21-year-old Joel Foster, of West Babylon, for starting the fight. More arrests are possible.

Pinckney became involved in the fight and was disciplined by the school. The former students involved in the fight have been barred from going to school activities for the rest of the year.

Malverne went on to win after all the fans were forced to leave.
