Community opposes new 7-Eleven

Residents in Huntington Station are petitioning after 7-Eleven announced plans to build a new convenience store in their neighborhood.

The convenience store would be built at the corner of Livingston Street and New York Avenue. According to residents, a 7-Eleven would make the intersection even more dangerous than it already is.

Community members are now urging the company to look closely at the neighborhood's traffic and reconsider the proposal. They also say the store isn't needed, with six locations already in the area.

A public hearing about the 7-Eleven will be held at Huntington Town Hall on April 21.
