Another fight breaks out at Hempstead H.S.

Fighting erupted inside Hempstead High School for the second time in a week Friday, prompting a staggered dismissal.

Mayor Wayne Hall says security guards moved in quickly. Two students and a security guard were injured in the fighting, which News 12 Long Island has been told is race related.

Village leaders and the school board held an emergency meeting Friday. Another meeting will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. for parents and police as well.

On Monday, eight students were injured after fighting broke out in the school. Nassau police say seven students have been arrested on assault charges for that incident.
