Robert Moses beaches shrink from storm

The relentless nor'easter that clobbered the region over the weekend has left Robert Moses State Park decimated by erosion.

Approximately 150 yards of beachfront has been lost between fields 2 and 5 since last summer, 40 of which were from this weekend alone. Fields 4 and 5 have had their entire beachfronts wiped out, officials say.

"It was one of the worst storms that I've ever seen," says George Gorman, of the New York State Parks Department.
