Police officer injured in Commack cruiser crash

A police officer was hurt in a cruiser crash Tuesday night.

Officials say the crash happened on Indian Road in Commack just before midnight. The officer was trying to pull over a speeding car when another car turned in front of him, causing the officer to crash.

An unidentified officer was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital but he has since been treated and released.

The other driver was not hurt. The car being pursued was never stopped.
