LIPA holds hearing to assess storm response
? Long Island Power Authority held a board meeting Thursday to discuss the utility?s response to this month?s powerful bout of wind and rain.
According to officials, 263,000 customers lost power and thousands of homes and businesses were without power for up to six days.
CEO Kevin Law says more could have been done.
Lynbrook?s public works supervisor was one of three people who spoke during the public comment part of the meeting. He scolded the utility for the way it communicated with local officials and customers.
LIPA says it will develop a new communication system to stay connected to its customers.
