Undercover probe nets alleged gang members

Suffolk police announced the arrests of eight suspected gang members they say are responsible for terrorizing the Huntington Station community.

The arrests come after a months-long undercover investigation by the FBI and Suffolk police. Authorities say the men and women belong to the Latin Kings gang and were selling drugs and illegal weapons.

Two recent shootings have been reported near Jack Abrams Intermediate School. Police say the shootings involved rival gangs.

The suspects were arraigned Thursday and are being held without bail.

FBI says its investigation is ongoing.
