Thieves terrorize Valley Stream woman

Police say two men broke into a Valley Stream home and terrorized a woman there before making off with cash and jewelry.

Authorities surrounded the Locust Street home following the incident Wednesday afternoon. The two suspects entered the house through an unlocked door and duct taped a woman's mouth, eyes, hands and feet while her grandmother and baby were in the next room, police say.

Police say no one was injured, but the thieves ransacked the home and stole cash and jewelry. One neighbor says the house may have been targeted because the family owns a Chinese restaurant in the area.
