State park fees increase Saturday

Fees at New York State parks increase starting Saturday.

Golf at Bethpage Black on the weekend now costs $75, up $15. This summer parking at ocean beaches run by the state, like Jones Beach and Robert Moses, will be $10 instead of $8.

Parks that have a lot of amenities, like Hempstead Lake and Valley Stream, now cost $8 per car.

Officials say it is another move to raise cash and close the budget gap without having to close the parks.

Fees at some town parks are also going up.
