Mets launch season with 7-1 win over Marlins

Mets fans celebrated the start of the 2010 baseball season with a 7-1 win over the Marlins at Citi Field Monday.

Between the win and the gorgeous weather, fans say it was a perfect way to start the season.

Newcomers Jason Bay, Rod Barajas and Gary Matthews Jr. had two hits apiece for New York, which improved to a major league-best 32-17 on Opening Day.

Former Met Darryl Strawberry threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Carlos Beltran, Jose Reyes and Daniel Murphy were out of the starting lineup. All three are on the disabled list.
