Lawsuit targets Suffolk Transit in teen's death

A Blue Point father whose daughter was killed when a Suffolk County bus slammed into her SUV says the driver isn't solely to blame.

Kevin Vatalaro says Suffolk bus drivers have no choice but to speed to keep up with their unrealistic schedules. Vatalaro is now suing not only the bus driver involved in his daughter's accident, but the entire Suffolk Transit system.

Vatalaro's daughter, 19-year-old Jenna Vatalaro, was killed May 21, 2007, when her car and a Suffolk Transit bus collided at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Montauk Highway.

Suffolk Transit officials have denied that drivers are pressured to speed.
