LI boxer in coma after being shot

? Boxer Adam Willett, 28, is in an induced coma at Stony Brook University Medical Center after being shot in the chest Wednesday night.

According to Newsday, Willett was trying to help two girls who were being bothered by a group of men at a shopping center in North Bellport. One of the men shot him and they both fled the scene, police say.

Willett?s boxing coach says the girls were students at Bellport High School, where he worked as a security guard.

Willett is a well-known professional boxer and was an alternate at the 2008 Olympic Games.

So far, no arrests have been made.
