Woman drives car into Mattituck home

Police say a woman whose car unexpectedly accelerated on its own drove through a house in Mattituck yesterday.

Authorities say 63-year-old Noreen Warren sideswiped a tree before hitting and crashing through 3125 Grand Ave.

Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated Warren from her 2007 Lexus EDS250. Warren was flown to Stony Brook University Hospital to be treated for her injuries.

The house, which belongs to 94-year-old Judith Utter, was condemned by the building department due to extensive damage.
