LI couple becomes face of anti-DWI campaign

A Long Island couple is being featured in the state?s new anti-DWI campaign after losing their 7-year-old daughter to a drunken driver nearly five years ago.

In the ad, Katie Flynn?s parents describe how the family was in a limo returning from a wedding in Bayville when they were hit by a wrong-way driver on the Meadowbrook Parkway.

The 30-second ads use actual dash cam footage from the limo. The limo driver, Stanley Rabinowitz, was killed as well.

The family and state officials say they hope the advertisements put a face to the dangers of drunken driving.

The two PSAs started airing this morning and will run for about six weeks.
