Suffolk cop injured in struggle with suspect

Officials say a Suffolk cop was injured trying to arrest a suspect at a CVS Monday night.

Police were called to the store on Nesconset Highway in Port Jefferson Station where an officer tried to arrest the suspected thief.

Police say the two got into a scuffle and the officer hit her head on the floor. She was treated and released from the hospital.

The unidentified female suspect is now facing several charges including assault and resisting arrest.
