New plan being implemented for SUNY schools

The State University of New York is implementing a new strategic plan to create jobs and keep graduates from leaving the state.

"Cradle to Career" will use a clinical approach to teacher training, improve and expand SUNY's online classes and allow students to learn from entrepreneurs. Students will also have an easier time transferring credits.

Farmingdale State College President Hubert Keen praised the plan, especially elements focusing on energy research and development elements.

The plan would be carried out at all 64 campuses in the SUNY system.
