Mangano announces plan to fix Cedar Creek Plant

Officials say an aging sewage treatment plant in Wantagh will soon receive a $27 million renovation.

As News 12 Long Island reported, the New York State Department of Labor issued 26 safety violations to the Cedar Creek Plant in February.

Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano announced a plan to fix the plant that will include bringing in new machinery and hiring 10 new workers. Mangano says the improvements are expected to take place over the next four years.
