? Joanna Bird's mom returned to the witness stand Friday, telling jurors that on the morning her daughter was killed, she received a panicked call from her.

Sharon Dorsett said she could hear her daughter's accused killer, Leonardo Valdez-Cruz, in the background saying, "You will be dead before you mamma and the police get here."

Dorsett also told the jury that Valdez-Cruz's car was in her daughter's driveway when she arrived at the house.

Valdez-Cruz is charged with first-degree murder. If convicted, he faces life in prison.
