Graphic testimony heard in Joanna Bird trial

The jury in the Joanna Bird murder trial heard graphic testimony yesterday as an emergency worker described the alleged crime scene.

The emergency services officer detailed the scene as he walked into Bird's home after she was killed. The jury also saw pictures of the blood-soaked stairs where Bird's body was found.

Bird's coworker at a school bus company also testified, telling jurors that Bird seemed stressed the morning before she was killed and that she heard someone yelling at Bird over the phone.

Valdez-Cruz is charged with first-degree murder. If convicted, he faces life in prison.
