Students on edge after shooting threat

Students at Plainedge High School were on edge today after a former classmate was charged with making a terrorist threat against the school over the weekend.

Nathan Myres, 17, allegedly said he planned to go on a shooting spree at the school tomorrow, the eleventh anniversary of the Columbine High School massacre.

Police say they learned of the threat when a BOCES teacher overheard students talking about it. Myres allegedly told other students he'd return to Plainedge High School and "shoot it up."

The school district say there will be extra security on the grounds tomorrow.
