Thornton gets life without parole in '08 slaying

Ronald Thornton has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for his role in the murder of his Nesconset business partner.

Thornton paid a stripper and two friends to kill James DiMartino in 2008. The two men owned a mortgage company together.

DiMartino's wife, Diane, spoke in court about her husband and her family's loss. The assistant district attorney also read letters from DiMartino's children.

Thornton was found guilty of both first-degree murder and first-degree conspiracy in March.
