Second teen dies after Ronkonkoma crash

Suffolk County police say a second teen died just after 3 p.m. yesterday following a Ronkonkoma car crash that took place on April 10.

According to police, 16-year-old Stephen Massina was pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Medical Center. Massina was a passenger in the car driven by 17-year-old Eugene Franjola, who was pronounced dead after the accident.

Police say the two boys were traveling south on Ocean Avenue when they were struck by a truck driven by 28-year-old David Heise.

According to investigators, Heise was driving with a revoked license at the time of the accident. He was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
