Tentative union deal could save Nassau $16M a year

A new plan could save Nassau millions of dollars but it would mean the most experienced cops and county workers would have to retire.

According to Newsday, County Executive Ed Mangano is expected to sign off on a deal with Nassau's unions on retirement incentives. The deal could save $16 million a year.

Democrats question if the deal would leave the police department under staffed.
