Cops: Theater director sent suggestive messages

Officials say a 40-year-old theater director from Lindenhurst is facing charges for sending an underage girl suggestive text messages.

Police arrested Vincent Sparagano Monday night for allegedly sending a 14-year-old girl inappropriate messages since last December.

Police say the victim's parents called 911 after she showed them the alleged messages.

Sparagano is the director of a Lindenhurst theater group that he founded in 1995 called "Spot Light Players." Police are unsure if he met the girl through the group.

He is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and was released on bail.
