MTA set to slash funds for Able Ride program
? A last minute legal fight could save bus service for some of Long Island?s disabled.
Today the MTA is set to slash funds for the Able Ride program. This would mean many of Nassau?s disabled would lose door-to-door bus service.
Yesterday, an attorney for the MTA and the disabled argued their cases before a Central Islip judge.
It is not clear if the judge will delay today?s deadline or let the cuts go into effect.
