Lacrosse players accused of drinking suspended

Fifteen members of the Ward Melville High School lacrosse team have been suspended for allegedly drinking.

District officials say the boys drank at someone's home on April 16. Interim Superintendent Donald Webster says drinking is a violation of the athletes' code of conduct, which all of the players signed.

Six players have been banned indefinitely.

The players were not allowed to participate in yesterday's game against Smithtown High School West.
